LGBTQ+ Spiritual Organizations

  • The Open & Affirming Coalition:
    • The Open and Affirming Coalition advocates for the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community in the United Church of Christ and beyond, and equips UCC congregations to become effective witnesses to Christ’s extravagant welcome
  • Jewish Queer Youth:
    • JQY (Jewish Queer Youth) supports and empowers LGBTQ Jewish youth with a special focus on teens and young adults from Orthodox, Chassidic, and Sephardi/Mizrahi communities. JQY fights to ensure the emotional and physical health and safety of this population. Our goal is for all these individuals to know: You are a valued member of the Jewish community and you are not alone.
  • The Fellowship of Affirming Ministries:
    • The Fellowship’s overarching goal is creating, sustaining, and celebrating community on the margin. At its simplest level, the Fellowship offers a place of Hospitality: Marginalized people experience hospitality where they have neither to defend nor deny their place or humanness.  Hospitality means creating a free space where the stranger can enter and become a friend instead of an enemy.  The intention of hospitality is not to force people to change but to offer them space where change can take place; It is not meant to convert men and women over to any one “side” but to offer freedom not disturbed by dividing lines and to engage in heartfelt, meaningful dialogue.
    • The Fellowship welcomes all persons to join us on this journey. We don’t purport to have all of the answers, but we endeavor to create an environment where we can search together in full assurance of faith in a God Who’s love is great enough to hold us all.” ~ Bishop Yvette A. Flunder, Presiding Prelate, The Fellowship of Affirming Ministries
